PROJECT
One of 46 ambulance Stations in Northern Ireland, Ardoyne Ambulance station in North Belfast is a busy hub with personnel, vehicles and life saving equipment on site. Our perimeter security team were contracted by Northern Ireland Ambulance Service to supply and install a security gate at the main entrance to the station.
SOLUTION
Based on the customer brief and a number of on-site factors we supplied and installed a 6m wide and 2.4m high tracked sliding gate, clad in 358 mesh. We also installed 358 mesh safety run back fencing with a pedestrian access gate. The gate is operated using an entrance keypad for entry and exit and audio only intercom.
Tracked sliding gates run on a track laid into the road and are ideal for when runback space is limited. With Tracked sliding gates the cantilever section is removed, allowing for a reduced runback distance. Instead, the gate is fabricated with a strong beam at the bottom with bearing wheels. These are mounted onto the rail allowing the security gate to roll backwards and forwards smoothly. With tracked gates it is important to keep the track area clean and free from debris to allow for free movement.
RESULT
With limited space at the site, an automatic tracked sliding gate was the ideal solution for this application. Sliding gates are inherently secure by design as the gate acts like a section of fencing, which then moves to allow access providing high security from both vehicular and pedestrian intrusion 24 hours a day.
At Breezemount, our team can advise on all aspects to ensure the best type of gate is provided to fulfil your requirements, while ensuring a high quality supply and installation, including force testing upon commissioning.
