What Is A Hydraulic Powerpack and Breaker?

A Hydraulic Breaker is an essential tool for construction able to break up the toughest of materials. Allowing for the creation of down piping channels, removal of tile, or breaking through asphalt on road works projects.

Hydraulic powerpacks for your breaker give greater power and reliability than electric or pneumatic options.

How Do Hydraulic Powerpacks and Breakers Work?

A Hydraulic powerpack is a self-contained unit which transfers energy via liquid, in this case oil. This transfer of energy creates rotary motion and force which in turn powers the breaker. The rotary motion caused by the liquid transfer powers the internal hammer of the breaker, driving the chisel up and down to break up materials. The oil used in the creation of energy also lubricates the system, meaning a longer life for the powerpack and breaker.

This system, unlike ones powered by electricity, does not need to be plugged in at a power point, meaning greater access to any area of the site.
